At just 18 years old, Alejandro Montalvo has already made a name for himself in the super competitive 20" class. We spent a day with the 2018 UCI 20" World cup #1 at his home near Toledo in Spain.

Alejandro has an incredible training area in his back garden built by his father where he spends a lot of time perfecting his technique.
Big rocks, high logs, ramps, etc.. Think of any type of difficulty that a UCI World cup event might present and you'll find it in some way in Alejandro's trials garden.
There are a lot of fantastic training areas near Toledo where Alejandro lives. And on the plus side...the weather is pretty much always great.
A better look at some of the extreme difficulties Alejandro has built for himself at home. He spends a lot of time on these obstacles.
The 2017 UCI World cup round in Aalter was a milestone performance for Alejandro, qualifying for his first 20" final at just 16 years old.
Who wouldn't want to have this in the back garden?
Not far from Alejandro's house is a super big rock quarry. The amount of obstacles and lines is pretty much unlimited.
Self-confidence and trust in the material is a key factor for success in these types of sections. That's about 5 meters up in the air!
If you think it couldn't get better...there's lake as well near Alejandro's house. Ideal training spot for those hot summer days.
Meanwhile in the city of Toledo. Alejandro has got some cool trick riding skills.
Precision is something you can train wherever and whenever. Toledo has many cool riding spots.
