UCI World Championship Chengdu
Chengdu in the Chinese province of Sichuan hosted for the third year running the UCI World championship. A big event that always provides the necessary excitement and this year's edition wasn't any different.
Despite a couple of great rides, Nicolas Vallée wasn't at his best during the 26" 1/2 final with a fourth place finish.
The 26" final got off to a good start for Vallée until disaster struck in section 3 where he failed to score any points.
Nicolas Vallée is your 2019 26" Vice World champion and number one in the UCI 26" ranking.
Adam Morewood battled all he could but his ankle injury simple wasn't healed up enough for him to be competitive in the 20" Junior class. Coming into Chengdu, Morewood was a strong podium candidate but he had to settle for fifth place. He'll be looking forward to redemption in 2020.
Alejandro Montalvo was on fire during the 20" 1/2 final with a stellar performance.
Jumps. Montalvo loves those.
Montalvo's 20" final got off to a horrible start in section 1 and he was in comeback mode for the rest of the final.
In a super tight 20" final, Montalvo had to settle for fourth place. Not where he expects himself to be. With a few weeks of rest ahead, the new season preparation can start for Alejandro and the rest of the team.
